Fifteen students in fifth through eighth grade competed in the district-wide spelling bee held at Las Estrellas Dual Language School last Thursday. Ara Garman, a Northeast Middle School sixth grader, won the bee by spelling vengeance. Admit it, you wouldn’t have put that second e in the word.
Milo Rush, a fifth grader at Seward Montessori, was runner-up.
Students also registered online to compete in a regional spelling bee and the district will know what students made it into that bee in early March.
